A Warm Welcome From

Adam Richards

We are delighted to welcome you to The Bishops’ Church of England Learning Academy website which I hope will provide insight into our vibrant, creative and nurturing school located in Newquay. Our mantra is for our school community to, ‘Have faith to Belong, Believe, Aspire and Achieve’ in everything we do.

Our foundation is in the church and we strive for all our children to flourish: "If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it would move. Nothing is impossible". Matthew 17:20.

We are committed to ensuring that our children thrive during their time at The Bishops' and that they are instilled with our Christian values of perseverance, compassion, respect, forgiveness, trust and courage to be ready for whatever challenges come their way.  These values echo our Trust Core Shared Values and our Trust Philosophy of ‘work hard, be honest & help others’.

At The Bishops’ the children come first, this is reflected in everything we do.  We believe in inspiring pupils to become independent learners through creating endless possibilities and making a difference to our community and we are proud to be the only Church of England school in Newquay.

Your visit to our website will give you a taste of what life is like at The Bishops’. But we love nothing more than showing off our school to visitors and would be thrilled to have the opportunity to show you everything that The Bishops’ has to offer. If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact our school office team on 01637 876317 or drop an email to thebishops@kernowlearning.co.uk.

Our friendly team of staff and smooth transition to school means that children get a great start to their education and achieve well at The Bishops. The Nursery children share our Early Years indoor and outdoor areas which provide a nurturing and challenging environment for all children.

We are very fortunate to have a spacious, bright and well-resourced classroom and lots of outdoor space. We have a covered area by our classroom where children can free-flow to explore sand, water and messy play. We also have a larger outdoor area which we use daily for physical play and creative activities and take advantage of our school field for our “welly walks”.We are constantly developing the outdoor space to enable children to play and learn in a way that suits them and their individual learning style.
